UCAN is a vocational training centre which offers a huge range of opportunities to young people in the Wakefield district, and a centre for the community on an evening and weekend.
We have a café, kitchen, hall, IT suite, function rooms and offices for rent. Based in the centre we have providers of arts and crafts, a hair and beauty salon, wilderness adventures and sports coaches. The large playing field at the back could be used for community events such as concerts, car boot sales, football tournaments and gala days to name only some activities it could be used for.
After a meeting with the local neighbourhood watch team to find out what the community might need they have informed us that a youth club is something missing in the community and would be brilliant if UCAN could set one up. This is something we are looking at at the moment. We at the UCAN Centre are very excited and enthused about opening our doors to the wider community. |
